Data Sources

How we obtain and update exchange rate data so you can trust our currency converter and rate tables.

Primary source: ExchangeRate API

Our live exchange rates are powered by ExchangeRate API (open.er-api.com). This service aggregates rates from multiple financial data providers and is widely used by developers and applications for currency data.

We request the latest rates for the base currency you are viewing (e.g. USD or EUR) and use them to compute conversions and display pair rates. The API returns rates that reflect mid-market or interbank-style rates, which may differ from the rates offered by banks or currency exchange services to consumers.

Update frequency

Rates are refreshed at least every minute when you load or reload a page. This ensures that our converter and pair pages show current data. Historical charts and time-series data, where available, are based on the same source with appropriate caching for past dates.

For important limitations and how you should use our rates, see our disclaimer. For legal terms, see our terms of service.
